A look at the wealth of drinking horns, silver plate, and other feasting gear from Sutton Hoo as they shed light on our understanding of Old English culture.

Summer Solstice at Sutton Hoo

A Midsummer Eve Sunset Special, beginning with a talk on the great festivals of the pre-Christian calendar, followed by dinner and a guided sunset stroll across the sacred turf of the old royal barrows.

The Mystery Objects from Sutton Hoo

A reassessment of the ceremonial objects found in King Rædwald’s burial chamber - the “sceptre”, the “standard” and the wonderful hanging bowls.

How Sutton Hoo changed our views about the so-called 'Dark Ages' and the beginnings of England as a nation.

Winter Solstice at Sutton Hoo

A Winter Solstice Sunset Special, beginning with a guided stroll across the site to the great ship-burial barrow on one of the major festival days of the pre-Christian calendar, followed by hot drinks and chocolate Yule log.
